Store Keeper

The Store Keeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, tracking, and documentation of raw materials, hardware, consumables, finished goods, and inventory items used in furniture manufacturing and interior projects.

The role ensures accurate inventory management, proper material handling, timely issuance to production and site teams, and maintenance of organized warehouse operations to support uninterrupted production and project execution.

The Store Keeper plays a critical role in minimizing inventory discrepancies, material losses, and operational delays.

Key Objectives of this Role


  • Maintain accurate inventory records

  • Minimize stock discrepancies and material wastage
  • Maintain organized and efficient warehouse operations
  • Ensure proper inward and outward material tracking, inspection and compliance
  • Support operational continuity through effective inventory control

Key Responsibilities


1. Inventory Management
    • Maintain accurate stock records of:
      • Boards and plywood
      • Laminates and veneers
      • Hardware and fittings
      • Upholstery materials
      • Adhesives and consumables
      • Packaging materials
      • Finished goods
    • Monitor stock levels and report shortages
    • Maintain minimum and reorder stock levels
    • Conduct regular physical stock verification
    • Reconcile physical stock with ERP/system records
    • Monitor slow-moving and dead stock
2. Material Receipt & Inspection
    • Receive incoming materials from vendors and transporters
    • Verify:
      • Quantity
      • Specifications
      • Quality
      • Purchase Order compliance
    • Coordinate with Procurement and Quality teams for discrepancies
    • Ensure proper GRN (Goods Receipt Note) processing
    • Label and organize incoming materials properly
3. Material Issuance & Dispatch
    • Issue materials to production and installation teams against authorized requests
    • Maintain proper issue records and documentation
    • Ensure timely material availability for factory and site operations
    • Coordinate dispatch of finished goods and project materials
    • Verify dispatch quantities and packing lists
    • Support loading and unloading activities
4. Warehouse Organization
    • Maintain clean, safe, and organized storage areas
    • Ensure proper stacking and storage practices
    • Implement FIFO (First In First Out) where applicable
    • Ensure materials are stored to prevent damage and loss
    • Organize racks, shelves, and material locations systematically
    • Maintain clear identification and labeling systems
5. ERP & Documentation Management
    • Update stock transactions in ERP systems such as Odoo
    • Maintain:
      • Stock registers
      • GRNs
      • Material issue records
      • Transfer records
      • Dispatch documentation
    • Generate inventory reports as required
    • Maintain accurate inventory documentation and filing systems
6. Coordination with Departments
    • Coordinate with:
      •  Production Team
      • Operations Team
      • Site Teams
      • Accounts Department
    • Support smooth material flow across departments
    • Inform management proactively regarding shortages or delays
    • Assist during audits and stock reviews
7. Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure safe handling of materials and warehouse equipment
    • Follow company inventory and warehouse SOPs
    • Support implementation of operational discipline and compliance standards
    • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety standards
    • Ensure fire safety and storage compliance practices are followed

Required Qualifications


Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:

  • Supply Chain Management
  • Warehouse Management
  • Commerce
  • Business Administration
  • or related field

Minimum qualification may be relaxed for highly experienced candidates.

  • 2–8 years of experience in:
    • Warehouse operations
    • Store management
    • Inventory handling
    • Manufacturing stores
    • Furniture or interior industry inventory operations

Preferred Industry Experience:

  • Furniture manufacturing
  • Modular furniture
  • Interior fit-outs
  • Construction materials
  • Hardware and fittings inventory
